This is my second attempt at a Granny Stripe blanket. The first one I didn’t pay attention to what I was doing, and I was rushing to finish it as soon as I started (I wanted to enter it in the county fair) but I ended up adding clusters to the ends of the rows and making my rectangle blanket into a tapered outline. Failure for sure. This time, I know what I am doing. And I am thrilled!!!
I have seen others to ripple blankets with white between the colors and I enjoyed those. They break up all of the colors nicely and I like how it saves my colors so I can use them for the border, I hope!
I am using 16 colors of Stylecraft Special DK including white.
Here is the order of colors, remembering that white is between each color:
Lipstick
Matador
Pomegranate
Jaffa
Shrimp
Sunshine
Saffron
Citron
Spring Green
Meadow
Aspen
Sherbet
Cloud Blue
Aster
Lavender
Nov/27/2012: I just noticed as I was on the second row of white, I had a cluster of four instead of three on row one of white. Rippit!

I can’t believe it’s done! I love it! I decided to use the border from Lucy’s crochet bag instead of the one on her granny striped blanket (I love shells).
I can’t believe how big this ended up!
57 rows of color (with white in between included)… that makes 14 rows total, plus the white granny clusters around for the first edge row. I used Cloud Blue for the next row, which was SC, followed by Citron in DC and Pomegranate in SC before using Lavender for the shells. In the famous words of the Attic24 fan’s beloved Lucy “Ta-Dah!”
