Notes

Okay, so this isn’t really a project that I knit or crocheted. It is, however, a compact yet roomy tote bag that I sewed to carry around my knitting projects and the various and sundry items required to complete projects, including books or magazines, yarn, scissors, tapestry needles, crochet hooks, knitting needles, measuring tape, row counter and emergency stitch fixer. Oh, and my iPhone (so I can take pics of my knitting and update my Ravelry status, of course!).

The pattern can be purchased for $6 USD or as part of a collection for $14.99 via the Interweave website.

I added some loops and lobster claw latches to the sides of the inside pocket for times when I’m working with multiple balls of yarn and want to thread them through the latches to keep them from becoming horribly tangled.

I made the nylon straps adjustable so that I can hang the bag from a chair or on my arm without interfering too much with my knitting.

The outside fabric was a remnant of outdoor / patio furniture fabric - it’s stiff enough that interfacing wasn’t required, plus it’s water resistant. The inside fabric is broadcloth and I used the heavy interfacing called for by the pattern - but I think next time I’ll just go with a medium weight, which should be just fine.

I’m making the optional flower detail with cream coloured felt and it can be pinned to the bag or not, as my mood sees fit.
