Notes

17-11-2015

as my gauge is not right, I did cast on the smallest size. Knitted about 45 rows of ribbing on 3,5 mm needles = 14,5 cm of ribbing. The width of the ribbing looks rather tight, but it can stretch. For the eyelet stripes I have 22 st and 28 rows to 10 cm on 3,75 needles.

started the sleeves. Knitting two at a time in magic loop. With socks I wasn’t very succesful with this method, but this thicker yarn works much better!

26-11-2015

pfff, decided after the sleeves ribbing that I should knit them seperate! 4 balls of yarn is just too much. Also increases, and an odd number of stitches is a fuzz when the eyelet row comes in sight. Ans I still think doublepointed needles knit up faster ;)

one sleeve ready!

15-12-2015

working on the yoke since two days now!

07-01-2016

started the colourwork section!!!

09-01-2016

Need to redo the yoke. I have a bit too much yoke to nicely fit at the underarms. So I will cut out 2 stripes for a nicer fit. Also the blue isn’t to my liking. I will change it into bright pink, have some Quince and Co lark in rosa rugosa that might be perfect.

15-01-2016

The blue buttonband became golden yellow, inspired by one of Violaviola’s sock colour combinations and Bowie’s hair on the Hunky Dory cover.
I didn’t dare to use bright pink!
For the buttonband I used Shilasdair luxury DK (more a 4 ply weight) and Jamieson’s 3 ply together.

Mods: I did less rows of ribbing, because my row gauge was way larger than the pattern. I did a few stripes less for the sleeves, and in the yoke, I did two stripes less. This gave a perfect fit, knitting the 1st size in a slightly ticker yarn. It gave me more or less a size two. The ribbing is nice and figure hugging.
