It’s done! I’m very pleased. Please note that the extra small size is VERY small; the sleeves are just exactly big enough for my size 0, 88 lb daughter. Great pattern, great designer, great yarn!
4/8 Funny story. Walked in the gallery, and the first sample sweater I spied was this same one! I pulled out my printed copy of the pattern and the owner laughed. She helped me a lot to choose the yarn. Casting on the gauge swatch.
4/9 Hmm. Gauge swatch is nearly right on widthwise, but an inch too long. Think I’ll switch to fives since I want it smaller than small anyway, and try another swatch.
4/10 2nd gauge swatch 4 x 4 1/2…will try 4s tomorrow :(
4/11 3rd time’s the charm…now I’m on 4 needles, cast on, and I’m off & running!
4/16 AND, frogging the whole thing at row 32. Wondered why I was getting a row of (not completely unattractive) holes along my m1r but not m1l side. Well, of course, I was doing the m1r wrong (and it only took me 3 1/2 inches to figure it out…DUH). Not all that noticeable, really, in the ombre yarn, but I can’t live with it. At least the gauge was perfect LOL!
4/21 Back to pre-frogging state, and can I just say, Hannah, the pattern designer is GREAT!! She updated the pattern, including the extra small size I need, and gave me personal instructions to customize since I had already started it. Responded in just an hour or two also. WOW!
4/28 Ticking right along. About 5 inches done on the body from the underarms, another 3 to go, then ribbing, sleeves, and collar. Anxiety/stress=lots of knitting!
4/30 This is really flying…I’m ribbing the body. I was worried that it would take forever. I may change my mind with the sleeves & collar! New picture.
5/14 Half way thru first sleeve; tried it on the girl and it fits like a dream! Yay!!
5/24 Nearly done with the second sleeve. Going to do the neckband in seed stitch so it doesn’t roll, then the last few rows in stockinette so it does. Does that make sense??
6/11 Did about 3 inches of seed stitch then 4 rows of stockinette & cast off. Like the little rolled edge.
