Using skeins leftover from my Solaris shawl. Note: The “1.02 skeins” left in my stash includes some remnants from John’s socks. This skein was used for several stripes in the shawl (it is on loan right now or I’d count but at least 4?).

Quit decreases on the leg at row 48, so instead of 63 stitches after the decreases, I will have 69.

On the foot, I’m alternating which color is dominant (the one in my left hand stands out more), and the stripe tension is much more even. It worked for the tree, though, to have the brown dominant.

Started the foot chart a couple of rows early for foot placement and actually wish I had started it earlier…it will be very low in the shoe. Then did a couple more plain rows before the toe to compensate. Using my standard toe rather than the charted.

Dec every round til 14ish stitches & kitchener.
Instead of doing the dec one stitch in from each end, did it one in on one side, and two in on the others, in order to keep the dark stripe the one traveling on both sides (this happened because my chosen final stitch count, 68, left an even number of st on both needles, and therefore the row started & ended w diff color, not the same. This wouldn’t be an issue w the original st count of 62, leaving 31 on ea needle).

Gusset is pretty and interesting, but the heel fits puffy and a bit weird. I would do traditional gusset decreases if I did it again.
Ended w 20 stitches on each needle because it was getting toooo long.
