I’m having more fun making up some of these Beaded Stress Balls/Ornaments, but this time doing some simple variations to produce different geometric patterns on the surface of the ball. If you want to try them out, too, here is what to do:

Variation #1: Alternate sections are beaded and unbeaded.
396 beads needed (~ 32” strung)
Instructions outline: Work as directed for sections 1, 3, and 5. For sections 2, 4, 6, just omit the beads.

Variation #2: I don’t have a short name to describe this. Can you help out?
462 beads needed (~37” strung)
Instructions outline: Bead on rows 1, 3, 17, 19 only of each section.

Variation #3: I don’t have a short name to describe this. Can you help out? This reverses the negative and positive space of Variation #2.
330 beads needed (~26.5” strung)
Instructions outline: Bead on rows 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 only of each section.

Each ball only takes about 25 yards of yarn. So, out of a single skein of yarn, you could make a bunch of balls. Or undoubtedly you probably have some partial skeins/balls in your stash for which this could be a fun use.
