12-12-2009: Cast on and worked about 3 inches of ribbing

12-14-2009: 5 inches of ribbing done.

12-15-09: And the yarn substitution did cause a problem when I switched to the size 8 needles…casting on the # of stitches in the pattern made a huge huge top part. So I ripped back and instead picked up the number to match the ribbed neck and then increased 2 stitches on each side of the gap about 1 inch up to allow for the ears…we’ll see how this works out.

12-19-09: Finished the cap and it fits well. Now to get pick up for the ribbing around the face. I’m planning to use the mitered corner variation.

12-19-09: Done! And I think the fit is quite good. Nice and snug. Now to cast on the second of three.
