I jumped into this project purely because I had to frog and abandon another one. It made sense to use the same yarn for this project because my gauge was spot on.

However… I did not give enough attention to the amount of yarn I would need to complete it…!

Something tells me that I will have to put my “Modification” head back on!!

Result
Gauge= 21.5 sts x 29 rows.
Length= 56cm / Armhole depth= 18cm
Ease= 0
Needles: 3.5mm for ribbings, 4mm for body, 4.5mm for sleeves.

Modifications
Cast on for size 2 as instructed. In order to make this cardi using the amount of yarn I had available, I worked it without ease. Decreased from hips to waist every 10 rows 4 times. Shaping decreases were placed 14 sts from edge. After that no further shaping was done.

Instead of doing cast off shoulder shaping, I worked german short rows. I changed the front neck line so that it was more crew neck (closer to the neck).

The sleeves were worked from the top-down in the round from the armhole. About 10 or so rows of short row shaping was done to form a shallow sleeve cap. I omitted the cable & lace pattern on the sleeve because… less is more, I think.

9 buttonholes for full length of button band. Buttons @ 15mm.

Approx. 1.8 skeins used (each skein is 200g)
