10 Oct- found gauge with 5.5mm needles for stockinette portion, and slipped stitch garter band with 4.5mm.

11 Oct- I have no idea how Jared comes up with these things, but a ribbed band with only knit stitches?? Genius!

17 Oct- Panel A- stockinette stitch done, that went fast. Working on the band, not so fast.

23Dec- I put aside the project to work on my x-mas fair stash as well as the Christmas gifts. These are finally finished, so I picked up this project agin. Due to the simple construction it was not hard to remember where I left off. Finished piece A.

17 Mar- I kept picking up this project in between others. It’s an easy knit, and not too hard to remember where you left off. Today I finished piece C. I have to block A and B now, to make sure they are the right size and equal. Will do that tomorrow. Looking forward to having it finished but dreading the kitchener!

27 Mar- Blocked pieces A and B. they stretched an insane amount!!! This cardigan, due to its construction really needs to be blocked exactly to the right measurements. I am supposed to have a piece that is 27 Inches long, it’s 35!!!!! Thank God I followed the instructions to the T and left the stitches on a string, so that I can simply unravel until I get to the right measurements. The width though, I had to stretch quite a bit, even though my gauge was correct, but it works. So tonight I am blocking piece C (I ran out of needles)

28 Mar- Piece C blocked as well. Required quite a bit of stretching but I got the right size.

NOTE: you REALLY, REALLY need blocking wires for this project. I do not have any, and it looks like I have a scalloped edge. Hope that this will even out once I have seamed it.

Before starting to seam, I measured my 2 pieces again, I unraveled too far!!!!! I need to re-knit about 3 1/2 inches of stockinette!!! I think I’m going to scream!

It’s done, but due to the fact that the rest of the piece is blocked, you can totally tell that I had to re-knit a portion! It looks awful! I really hope that steam-blocking will fix that. Have to move on.

(Later that day)I am now seaming the ribbed edge to the stockinette portion. Just imagine 2 pieces, 27 inches each!!

29 MAR- Time for the kitchener stitch. Since I have never used it before, this should be interesting. Found a good tutorial on youtube, wish me luck!
Huh, it does not look half bad, if I do say so myself. Probably a little tight, but good.

30 Mar- Added piece C, and whipped up the armholes. Steam-blocked the cardigan again, concentrating on the re-knitted portion, and it worked!!! I am so relieved!!!

I LOVE IT!!
