16 Apr- Got gauge with 3.75mm needles. This now makes 3 projects in a row, all on the same set of needles. Strange.
Knitted 2 rows before nodding off, hope to have more energy tonight to continue.
23 Apr - I am about 16 cm into the body, looks lovely with the scattered YO’s. And the yarn is a dream to knit with! I am in love with the color as well.
26 Apr- Body is almost finished, I will be separating for the front and back part soon.
28 Apr- Working on the back. I have never been able to figure out just how to “keep knitting the pattern as established” while decreasing….to me that is confusing. But since these are just YO’s I was able to guess where they were supposed to be.
NOTE- what bothers me is that right now, having switched from knitting in the round to knitting back and forth on these stitches, they are turned, so the tension on the bottom of the dress is different then on the top. I am hoping this will be fixed with blocking.
29 Apr- Front and back are done, working on the collar. There has got to be an easier way to do this!
30 Apr- all done!!!
NOTE- the joining of the front and back and the adding of the neckline are a bit of a pain. There surely is an easier way to do this, with less steps. It’s not hard at all, but t does result in a lot of loose ends and a couple of gaping holes where you add the neckline. I was able to fix it, but I would probably simplify this were I to knit it again.
The dress looks absolutely adorable, and it fit my friend’s daughter perfectly! The yarn is also a dream to work with, and I loved the fact that I only needed 1 skein.
