20 June-working on gauge. Accomplished with 5.5mm needles. Hoping to make good progress on vacation

25 June- Settled into our little place in La Jolla. Once Aidan is in bed, it’s the perfect time to do some knitting, and watch some TV. Cast on 120 stitches, read the instructions, seems straightforward. Here we go.

25 June- Later- Humph…I am not sure how one is meant to know 120 stitches in the round with a 32 inch circular…This is never going to happen! Stretching the stitches apart as much as possible, I was able to get it around, but I am not liking how this is coming together.

26 June- Yeah, I am not continuing, it’s waaaaay to stretched out, I need shorter circulars, 20 inches would probably be perfect.

1 April 2014 - yes….this is how long this project has been waiting to be picked up again.

UPDATE: It seems I am between sizes, so I had to rip back to the pattern on top and re-knit the boy, making the decreases more frequently so that it would be less loose. I like the way it is turning out.

I used the the super-stretchy bind-off for the bottom, to make it more comfortable.

For whatever reason I ended up with 50 stitches per sleeve when you are supposed to only have 48. Not suer what happened there….

Sleeve # 1 is finished, working on sleeve # 2.

I have finished the sweater. And it is big….not at all what I had in mind.

But it fits my sister, so now she has her first handmade sweater by me!
