The color is best on photos of the wound yarn; it’s wrong on all the photos of the finished shawl. This color is a very nice, rich dark turquoise/teal.

I had gotten a good bit done on this, but then was stalled by lots of freelance work in the way.

I got back to this and I’ve done lots of work today (9 September). I’ve got just two rows and the bind-off to finish.

I’ve made one extra repeat of the center section (so 5 repeats in all). I finished one ball of the Cascade about halfway through that 5th repeat. The second ball of Cascade took me through about 30 rows of the border. If I hadn’t done the extra repeat, I would have been able to finish the shawl with the second ball; but that extra repeat added extra width to the 34 rows of border, as well as the 12 rows of the repeat itself.

(I have some yarn I bought on sale that I think would be good for another version of this shawl. But I’ll have to be sure I don’t work any extra repeats. I have just two balls of the sale yarn.)

Woo-hoo! All over but the blocking, and I think I’m very happy with it. (I’ll know for sure when it’s blocked.)

It’s blocking. Pinned out loosely--not super-stretched--it’s 58” by 31” while wet. This looks like it will be a nice shawl to give to folks who aren’t equipped to block a shawl every time they wash it. When wet, this can be laid out flat (need a large-ish area). There aren’t any points to pin out, and the shawl doesn’t seem to pull badly in any direction. It very nearly blocks itself.
