This sweet little sweater features bold cables that are easy to memorize and knit. A quick and rewarding project.

The pattern gauge seems too loose for a fingering weight yarn--maybe the sample was knit with a loftier fiber?--so I’ve gone with a tighter gauge and knitted a couple sizes up. If I were to knit to pattern gauge, I’d use sport weight yarn.

The buttons look weird in these pics because they’re reflecting the light. In real life, they blend nicely.

Modifications:
Changed the neck band and bottom band to seed stitch, as I am not a fan of garter stitch. Worked a ribbed cast on and bind off to accommodate the seed stitch.

Worked Row 2 of cable pattern as 2(C4B) instead of 2(C4F). I like the flow of cables better this way.

If I make this again, I’ll change the raglan increases to paired directional increases instead of kfb next to kfb. This is just me being picky--it’s fine the way it’s written.
I’ll also use thicker yarn, because this comes out very small. I’ve noticed other knitters have found it to be small as well.
