Mods & Notes for next time:
- 2 rows garter stitch after cast on for neck
- Yoke: rpt rows 19-22 3 times (i.e. divide for sleeves on row 36)
- Body: 15 repeats + 2 rows of pattern + 6 rows garter stitch, cast off loosely in knit
- Waist “shaping”: complete 4 pattern repeats after dividing for sleeves, then switch to US 9s for next 4 pattern repeats
- Sleeves: 11 repeats + 1 more row + 6 rows garter stitch, cast off loosely in purl; sleeve sts split 12 + 24 for magic loop; easiest way to match up pattern is from center of shoulder down
- This yarn grew quite a bit in length after blocking - it’s very heavy when wet and took days to dry.
05/30/10: For a blissful 5 minutes I thought this was ready to be blocked. Then I noticed a weird looking bit of the pattern on the left sleeve. Poking it to see what was up resulted in the hole you can see. sigh
Some judicious “darning” (and a lot of stubbornness) seems to have solved the problem.
05/18/10: added some waist “shaping” by going down a needle size or two for several repeats.
05/12/10: restart with wide necked version.
04/10/10: Liesl is going to have a little rest after being frogged again. I’m not liking how tight the neck is, I have totally the wrong number of stitches for dividing the body, and I’m nervous about having enough yarn. I think I’ll start again with the wide necked version.
04/03/10: Did something stupid about 35 rows in. Restarted with markers b/n the repeats.
