I followed Clare’s pattern making it small. link text
Here is how I did it;
Using a F hook worsted weight yarn two colors= color “A” for rose, color “B” green for leaves
Color “A” ch-60
2nd ch from hook work 1-sc in every stitch to end, Turn
ch 3, skip 2 st, 1-sc into the next st, repeat from * to * - when you get to the end if you don’t have the correct amount of stitches left sc into the last stitch, turn
Using color “B” green for leaves (carrying rose color), sl st in ch-3 work 1-scr 1-hdc,1-dcr, 1-tcr, 1-dcr, 1-hdcr, 1-scr, note; scrunch stitches on chain 3
In next ch-3 1-sl st, Using color “A”, (carrying green to use one more time)
Ch 3, work 3 dc into the ch 3 space, ch-3, sl st into the same ch 3 space that you just worked the 3 dc into. Slip stitch into the next ch 3 space, ch 3, 3 dc into the chain 3 space, ch 3, slip st into same ch 3 space work this 2 or 3 more times then switch to color “B” and repeat steps for leaves above. then switch back to color “A” and work to end. If you are making a smaller rose like mine you may only have room for 2 leaves, so you can cut green leaving a little end to weave in later.
Finish rose as directed.
Clare has a great tip on her video and sewing the flower so it lays flat!
Repeat row 3 until the end. FO leaving a 30cm/12inch tail
