This pattern is not available online or through Ravelry. I contacted the LYS and ordered it over the phone. A paper copy was sent to me.
It calls for a US size 10.5 but I thought it was a size 10 - the needle size I already own. Will be making it using that needle size… (Hopefully it will be veritably the same size.)
Dec. 19: I’ve opted to block the body of this shawl before picking up and knitting the rib (closure) sections. I bought blocking wires to do this - we’ll see how it goes…
At this point I’m very glad I knit this in a 10 needle rather that the 10.5 because Debbie Bliss yarn - for all of its fabulousness - stretches beyond belief. As it is, I’ve had to block it smaller by 5 inches in length. I can only imagine what would have happened if I’d used the 10.5s.
Dec 20: The blocking went very well. I love the drape of this fabric - which really bounced back from the stretching but which isn’t as curly as it originally was. I’ve finished picking up and knitting one edge (the long tie) and I really like it.
The shaping of the sweater really means that it stays on one’s shoulders but it’s not overwhelmingly large.
Dec. 21: It’s finished and I’m not quite sure what I think. My first impression is that the drape is great, it’s warm, elegant and practical. I’m not sure that the fit is optimal on a person with large breasts, but I’m not prepared to go there till I’ve worn it a few ways. If you have large breasts, I recommend making the feed through tie (the 11” one) a bit longer to provide more give over the chest.
Dec. 23: I’ve worn it for a couple of days and I love it. It’s particularly chic on top of my fall coat. The slight asymmetry is quite nice, actually, nicer on a body than a dress form.

This is probably my most worn knit garment. I wear it atop a light coat and it’s awesome. I should make another…
