I had to modify pattern slightly. I didn’t have any I Love This Chunky Yarn, so I used Lion Brand Homespun yarn and an “L” hook. (I crochet on the loose side, so if you crochet a little tighter, this pattern would probably work well as written with the Homespun yarn and an “L” or “M” hook). On the first try I used an “N” hook and it was way too big.
I modified the pattern as follows: round 11: hdc in same stitch as join and in next 3 stitches, hdc two together in next stitch, hdc in next 4 stitches, repeat around and you will end with 3 hdc, not 4 (28 stitches)
round 12-13: hdc around (28 stitches)
round 14: sc in each stitch around (28 stitches)
This pattern was well written and easy to follow.
this took about 3 ounces of the Homespun yarn (1/2 skein). This yarn is not very stretchy, so it is less forgiving size wise and you may need to alter last few rows to get exact fit. Thank you, Kathy, for a great pattern!
