It was neccessary to mix up two yarns because the wool spun by a friend was not sufficient for this sweater. The moss-stitch pattern used up a lot of material so I worked the cuffs and the braid with a fitting colour.
The measurements had to be recalculated and I must tell that the pattern description was a worser one.
I am collecting ROWAN international magazines since the third issue and may tell you that the design models were always attractive but the patterns often had lack of logic or explicit descriptions.
In many times you had to guess measurements or proportions. This must have been disastrous for knitting novices. Fortunately as an advanced knitter you could compensate this lack of information.
Mercyfully the pattern descriptions published in ROWAN magazines have increased to a better quality.
