My Goodness, did this yarn shrink so I was glad to have added some centimeters on all sides.
I was inspired by “Jess”, but don’t have the pattern.
I made this with my simple single-bed-machine and I got the yarn paraffined two times to make it slide well over the needles.
Knitting was a piece of cake and done within three hours.
The parts for the body are simple rectangles (with 2cms seam allowance :-) ). The sleeves could have been longer but I ran out of yarn and wanted to knit an external pocket.
The pocket has a faux backside because the yarn was simply finished. In fact I took the swatch for the pocket and used an other cotton yarn for the back of the pocket.
The hood is composed of two halves of a trapezoid, the side along the face was formed with a slant to the front. It’s more of a design element than a shelter.
I’m not quite content with the buttons but will search for better matching ones or will sew the pocket to the front.
The 70s batik ornaments were made like we did this in the 70s. You may find umpty instructions in the internet.
And yes: the hoodie does not show the private side out, the seams should be seen, hence the name.
