I’ve wanted to make this sweater ever since Kate came out with Colours of Shetland… we saw Puffins in Iceland and I fell in love!

I decided, though, that I was not up for knitting the body of the sweater in black fingering weight, so choose a tweedy black from Harrisville in worsted weight and then increased for the fingering weight stitch numbers after joining for the yoke. The worsted weight section was knit on US Size 5 ndls at 17 sts/22 rnds over 4 inches. The yoke was knit on size 2.25mm needles.
