KAL with Kelly
WEEK ONE
Blogged
24th Sept
Actually I don’t feel like swatching. Will take a risk and CO with US 10. Decided also to pick a bigger size which at my tight-knitter’s gauge should give 38” at bust.
Making back first.
Just checked my St st parts = 8.5 sts in 2 “ and it’s pre-washing, so it should be ok.
1st mod:
Making it a little longer => starting dec after 6”.
WEEK TWO
Blogged
1st Oct
More than a half of back is ready. Not much:-/
Started shaping armholes after 20”.
2nd Oct
BO back ~ 132g
3rd Oct
Starting fronts, both of them on one cable needle.
4th Oct
I’m stuck at set-up row. Maybe it’s fever but I absolutely don’t understand instructions for ear of corn :-/
5th Oct
I gave up trying to understand ear of corn and decided to use simple left and right twists.
I also slip 1st stitch to get nice front edges.
WEEK THREE
Blogged
Kelly announced there will be a prize drawing. Yay to that!
14th Oct
Finished sleeves. I didn’t BO but left life sts - I want to bind them off together using 3-needle BO.
WEEK FOUR
Blogged
CO 37 sts for both sleeves.
WEEK FIVE
Blogged
22nd Oct
Everything done. Just need to block all parts and sew them togheter. Will I manage?
24th Oct
Seaming…
Ok, did it and I’m not very enthusiastic.
Because of seaming.
Maybe my stitches were too tight but I’m sure that if I was to make Aidez again it would definitely be seamless.
I picked a bigger size, added 4 sts to sleeves and still the armoholes are on the tight side.
I love the yarn though.
And I’m also sure I love seamless designs.
