Notes

Saw BC in this stylish striped scarf and thought it would be a great take with me, easy to knit project.

July 2, 2014 - almost done! half is strict 2 rows of each shade, then I made a mistake and make 4 black rows….so every once in a while I am throwing in 4 black rows….after all, a mistake repeated then becomes an element of design :) per Sally Melville!

I have been asked for details…so here they are!

This project was improvised all the way. I bought two balls of each shade when I was at DocKnits giving a colour play workshop in September 2014. I had already seen this photo of Mr. C. and this scarf was my inspiration.

Cast on 75 stitches. The plan was to knit striped stocking stitch (two rows of each shade) until I ran out of yarn!

I ran out of the black earlier because I mistakenly did 4 rows, didn’t notice it, and didn’t want to rip back. So then I had to repeat the mistake randomly to make it a design element (as per Sally Melville).

As I said, improvised! The yarn is lovely and soft, drapes wonderfully, will be a dressy scarf for the hubby to wear!

Knit mostly at my Monday knit nights!

Finally done!
