Dobby’s ears are based on the Yoda ears from the ‘Crochet Yoda Hat’ (pattern link above). I started with 8sc instead of 6sc but still followed the pattern.
I’m not 100% happy with his face, but he’s near enough.

Head
8sc in a magic ring.
Rnd 1: inc in ea st around. (16)
Rnds 2 & 3: sc around.
Rnd 4: (inc, 1sc) around. (24)
Rnds 5, 6 & 7: sc around.
Rnd 8: (inc, 2sc) around. (32)
Rnds 9, 10 & 11: sc around.
Rnd 12: (3sc in next st, 7sc) x 4. (40)

Start working in rows…
Row 1: work in front loops only work 10sc, sl st into next st, turn.
Row 2: work in both loops skip slip stitch, 9sc, sl st into next st, turn.
Row 3: sk sl st, dec, 4sc, dec, ch1, turn.
Row 4: sc across, turn.
Row 5: sk 1sc, dec, dec, sl st into next st, ch1, turn.
Rows 6 - 9: 3sc, ch1, turn.
Row 10: sc 3 together, finish off leaving a tail for sewing.
I pinched and shaped and stitched over the front of the head, around the eyes until I got a Dobby-like face.
I added and unravelled a few strands of yarn for his hair.
I made the body up as I went along - no notes for that.
I bought some white cheesecloth which I dyed with tea to make it look a little aged and made a very simple smock for Dobby.
