Day 24 - So, my notes got a little abbreviated and boring, so I quit with the daily ones. Finished on time, having omitted one day, I added a section of yo/k2tog at the end to make 24 lace sections, then a spacer, then 3-needle bind-off to make a cowl. Grew like crazy after washing. Lightly blocked around some big water jugs (just to keep it one layer so for faster drying). A little sad it grew so much; wore it before washing and it was perfect. Oh, well. I still love it.
day 17 - 1 repeat of chart.
Day 16 - skipped. Yarn conservation isn’t conserving enough and I’m not in love with this day.
Day 15 - 1.5 repeats over 54 stitches.
Day 14 - Again, 1.5 repeats across 50 stitches (added 2 stst columns on either side to make 50)
Day 13 - 1.5 repeats. Fun pattern!
Day 12 - once I figured out that the key provided for the chart is incorrect and you are to read the symbols the same on RS as well as WS it was an enjoyable chart. Stopped at row 15 for yarn, and time, conservation. At end of day 12 (the halfway point!) I have 52 grams left. Half of my yarn is 56g, so I’m going to have to do a little more yarn conservation, it seems.
Day 11 - apparently, not interesting, as I didn’t log anything about it. Hm.
Day 10 - Cut out rows 15-18 and the second repeat of 5-8 for yarn conservation. And because it was already really pretty. :D
Day 9 - so so pretty - worked 3 repeats across 50 stitches. These last 2 days have made up for day 7. (must admit - it is day 15 as I type this. I’m afraid I won’t get caught back up)
Day 8 - worked 3 repeats across 55 stitches. Glad this one is a simple yo/knit together type pattern after day 7. I wouldn’t be able to take anything more complicated after nupping.
Day 7 - shortened the repeat to 11 stitches and 18 rows worked across a total of 50 stitches. I learned from this clue that I. Do. Not. Like. Nupps. At all. I tried the traditional purl method, nope. Tried the crochet hook method. Nope. I had considered just adding beads, and now I wish I had done that as this section is wonky and off-count sometimes and just plain weird, but I’m grateful for the experience of trying the nupps. Only problem - I finished the clue on day 12. TWELVE. So much catching up to do.
Day 6 - Worked 1&1/2 repeats over 49 stitches. I think this is my favorite pattern yet - so fun to knit! 85 grams left.
Day 5 - Only knit 1 repeat. At the end of day 4 and 5 and the spacers after each, we’re looking at 90 grams remaining.
Day 4 - I only did 2 repeats + 1 row of this chart - I didn’t weigh as it took into day 5 to get it done!
Day 3 - at the end, 97g remain. To do some yarn management on this one, I used suggestions from the group and took out one yo-k2tog from each repeat and shortened the rows between each cable cross by 2 - I wanted 3 crosses but didn’t want to knit that far. I think it turned out great! I love the happy accident of how the motifs from yesterday flow into the cables of today. A little metaphoric, isn’t it?
Day 2 - Fouled up the spacer as I forgot the WS rows aren’t charted. Oh, well, will just continue that mistake on up. It’ll make my yarn stretch further for this scarf. The day 2 chart gave me some trouble - it should read that “I I (less than symbol)” = sl1, k2, psso on the key for the chart. Once I figured that out, smooth sailing. Stopped 4 rows shy - again, trying to stretch the yarn, and day 2 was already significantly bigger than day 1. Went ahead and did the spacer section at the end of day 2, replicating my foul-up. Ended the day with 105g remaining.
Day 1 - CO for 51 st scarf and it seems the perfect size.
I like the idea of making this an infinity scarf, so I will prob do a provisional caston. Working the half-width version.
