Nov 4 7pm - started spinning my first yarn using romni wool and a friend’s drop spindle while out having coffee.
9pm (or so?) decided to end first bobbin as fiber kept breaking. Started a second and focused on making it less fine in weight.
Midnight - went to bed having finished two single plies of yarn.

Nov 5 morning - plied the two singles together. Had significant leftover from the first bobbin.
Wound the 2-ply into a skein. Approximately 19m. Skein seemed “balanced”. It didn’t curl in on itself.
Started soaking the yarn for about an hour.

11am, with help from a toddler who chose colours, poured food colouring into cups, then pot, and made sure I didn’t touch the hot crock pot, dyed the yarn purple-blue. (Red and blue food colouring added separate to bath; quickly blended)

12:30 rinsed purple yarn. Squeezed excess in water by rolling in a towel and walking on it (toddler’s favourite part of handwashing socks and soakers and shawls, etc)

1ish - Toddler kinda napped and mom got work done

4ish - Started working on top-down hat using available pink yarn. Waiting for skein to dry.

5ish - Added on handspun yarn!!!
Ran out of handspun. Switched back to pink. Then moved on to a softer sock yarn held double for 3x1 ribbing at base.
(somewhere in there ate dinner, got toddler ready for bed, etc)
9ish - all done.
