Gauge (after blocking swatches) 4,5 mm: 22sts = 10cm in twisted rib.
Second smallest size (47 ½). I chose the oversize fit, with an intended ease of 12-16”
CO 135 sts
Did 48 rows of Main Pattern for cropped version = the charts are 12 rows and they were knitted 4 times (4 x 12= 48 rows), ending with a WS row.
Did the twisted rib for 4cm before binding off. BO. Had to bind off really, really tight otherwise the hem would be all ugly and wavy.
(About working with cotton: This yarn shrinks after blocking. It’s the first time I ever see that, usually my yarns projects get a lot bigger after blocking, since I usually work with wool. But this is 100% cotton, and cotton shrinks a bit after washing. (It stretches out when used though)
As always, but specially now: Super important to block the swatches before taking measurements:)
ARMS:
Took measurements of my arms before choosing arm-size. Took the 4th size, aiming to get a tight fit as described in pattern. CO 49sts. Casted on both arms at the same time, so I knitted both at once. So much more fun this way!
Made a mistake in the increasing part…. (this is the first time in this entire pattern that it gets a little tricky, you have to pay attention to when to increase, and I (silly me) chose to knit this when I was really tired…. I decided to finish anyway, and see how the arms turn out after blocking since I was already suspecting that they would be too narrow.
I used 3,5 skiens, about 350 grams of this yarn.
2015-08-19 The pieces are blocking, I have to wait and see!
2015-08-22 The pieces reacted to the blocking process just like the swatches did, puh! (i e they shrunk a little). Sew the pieces together. And the sweater fits perfectly!
This is a super cropped version, but I’m looking forward to knit this again, maybe not so cropped next time.
Love this sweater, been wearing it non-stop!
