As usual, I don’t like following the original pattern and I’m trying to find a compromise between different jumpers: I want the traditional Norwegian colours and pattern of “Marius” but not with a round yoke (I’ve done too many lopipeysar recently). Not sure how it will work out but I’m mainly concerned about the fitting because I found some older patterns that look suspiciously 80s-style to me. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the Arne & Carlos pattern on ravelry but it was published in their book “Norwegian knits with a twist”.

As much as I like the pattern, it is pretty vague about almost everything. How to make the increase for the sleeve? Not very clear. How to join up the pattern in the round? Not very clear. There are no measurements and the text is kept extremely short so all I have to go by at the moment are the charts and the stitch count (my head is already spinning!). Not that I usually stick to the pattern by the word but it does help if they’re at least a little bit more detailed!
