I usually don’t care about the royals but this vest top was just too cute! I also wanted to use some of my stash and a little project like this is great for that.

My mum brought me the Teksrena yarn and some of the Latvian yarn from Estonia last year and I stocked up with additional colours on my trip to Riga last month. I love the variety of colours and it’s perfect for intarsia and fair-isle knitting, similar to Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift I would say. The yellow neckband was inspired by the mug in the picture.

The only tricky thing is that the chart requires knitting with three colours at a time so I have to keep my yarn organized (a.k.a. no knitting on public transport this time). I only knitted intarsia on the front but then realized that this makes the back stretch wider, of course, and I had some minor issues matching the two. It would probably better just to knit in the round or knit the front and the back identically.
