This is an experiment on how to get around the eternal problem of pattern vs. ease in socks. I followed the suggestion to only include the pattern in the front half of and put the ribbing in the back because I’ve had the problem before that I couldn’t pull the socks over my heels anymore because they weren’t stretchy enough. Let’s see how this goes!
Update 1:
I finished the first sock. I still love the colour combination, reminds me of peppermint candy! The knitting process is a bit slow though… floats over more than 5 stitches are a pain in the a** and because I have to guide the yarn back to the beginning of the row instead of knitting in the round (because of the stretch-rib-part in the back) it’s a very fumbly procedure. If I started again I would do it differently. But yey for the colours!
Update 2:
I keep on working on those socks on and off, mainly when I’m traveling. On my flight to Riga last week I got started on the second one but it’s still a very difficult process. Maybe French knots would have been easier after all?
Update 3
Finally finished! Probably the longest on-going project EVER but now it’s done, yey for the travelling socks.
