The recipient of the hat writes, “I am truly honoured to have been callsigned into a toque! The Canadian version of the American hams who have their callsigns sewn or printed on the front of their baseball cap.”

I showed the FO to another ham friend and he requested one as well, which is here.

Disclosure: I don’t actually know anything about ham radio, but I know a lot of engineers.

Update, March 20, 2012: This guy and the other one convinced me to get my ham radio operator’s license. They had me at “exam”, so.

April 21, 2012: Ed came to see me on my birthday, en route from Stockholm to Ottawa. He won’t let me take a serious photo of him, and this is the only one he let me take.
