I’m not one for things to cutesy, but definitely on a lace kick right now. Moreover, my mom made a fantastic version of this pattern. Just knitted my Hane and fell in love with the Kalinka. So what better yarn to use for a Date Night then black, fingering weight, unforgiving linen, right?

So due to different everything (yarn, gauge and body) , made a lot of mods (and used a lot of lifelines :)).

Here goes:

• CO 168 st (= 14 pattern rep)
• worked round 1-37: on round 26 of chart only 2 incs per repeat (st count 252)
• worked round 26-35 again, no incs
• divide sleeves from body: /54 st on waste yarn, CO 24, k 72/ 2 times (st count 194)
• work in pattern for 5cm
• waist shaping: dec 8 times on row 3 of pattern, after 2 pattern rep inc 2 times on row 1
• after 3 pattern reps started ribbing(twisted: k1 tbl, p1 tbl)
• sleeves: PU 18 st, worked round 36, 37 and 27-37 dec 12 st in last round (st count 60), twisted rib for 6 rounds

I really, truly love this top. It’s so versatile! It can be dressed up or down, it can look very sexy, but also work appropriate, depending on what you wear with it. Maybe another date next spring?
