I’m making this square for my “Be of Good Cheer” Samplerghan. :o)

It’s Valentine’s Day, so a heart-themed square seems appropriate. ;o)

It’s a little bit tricky in a spot or two-- especially if you’re not paying enough attention. (g) If you’re running into snags, just take a breath and read through the pattern (comparing it to your work) one stitch at a time. I had to redo parts of it where my counts came out wrong, but nothing too bad.

I ended up adding a round of sc at the end just to be sure it was up to 12”. Couldn’t decide whether it was or not, but it seemed a smidgen shy of a foot… (i.e. I had to stretch it out to get 12”, then it would be a little too short going the other direction, so…) Also, I think I want all my squares to end on a color that is NOT red, since I plan to join them all (with some sort of decorative joining) in red…
