I’m making this square for my “Be of Good Cheer” Samplerghan. :o)

I was following the pattern as written… more or less. (Well, ok, for the second round of petals, I crocheted around the 1st-round sc instead of in the back loop.) However, when I got to round 9, there was ruffling. (Yuck.) So I looked at other Ravelers’ project notes and saw that many had made some changes to reduce the rippling-- sometimes in previous rounds. I didn’t want to rip back, so I’m just changing round 9. I’ll dc in every dc-- but not in the ch-1 spaces.

After round 9, I started improvising rounds to bring the block up to 12 inches.

38 sts on each side on last round (counting each center corner st twice).
