I’m expanding my 12-block “Crochet Favorites Sampler (part 2)” by at least three more blocks of my own choosing. This is block number 13.

Started stitching while watching/listening to the first of the 2012 presidential debates. (Good job, Romney!)

Fun, easy, lacy expansion on the basic “classic” granny square. Rather pretty, too, I think.

Adding more rounds to the square to bring it up to 12 inches. Following the pattern, I ended up with only about 7 inches. (There was no specified “finished size” in the book, but I could tell by looking at it and the number of rounds that I’d need to add to it substantially.)

Extra rounds:

--4-dc popcorn with (dc in next 2 sts) in between

--4 rounds of alternating fpdc and dc (with 4 consecutive fpdc in the middle of each side)
