Doubling some “reclaimed” wool/cashmere laceweight. Originally pink, now overdyed to teal and green (ranging from golden-green to emerald).

I didn’t completely realize how slowly fabric would grow when using thin yarn on small needles. It’s going to take a while to make this scarf-length! I hope I have enough yardage to get a decent length…

I’m having periodic pain (after knitting a short while) in my right middle and ring fingers-- mostly the middle finger. I suspect that it’s something to do with the way I’m holding the smaller needle, because I don’t recall having it this much the last time I knitted, which was on larger needles. I’ll have to try a few things and see if I can change the way I hold the needle… In the meantime, I’m just limiting the time I spend knitting and stopping every so often to massage and/or rest my hand. Frustrating!

The pain has become less of an issue (though I still can’t knit this too quickly for too long without numbness in the same area.

It feels like knitting this scarf could go on forever. The balls of working yarn shrink very slowly. I’m not even halfway through!

Another concern is the wrap & turn. I’ve been doing that according to the description in the pattern (to the best of my understanding of it), but last night I watched a video tutorial of w&t that demonstrated a different method-- and the one I’m using is leaving very perceptible “bumps”/“loops” (the wraps)… At this point, there is NO WAY I’d consider frogging and restarting. Nope, not gonna happen. Those bumps are a design element, obviously. ;o)

Finished! (Well, aside from weaving in several ends.)

The pain and numbness completely ceased to be a problem, at some point. Must’ve just been out of practice-- or maybe I changed the way I held the needles without noticing it.
