Trying out my new Hiya Hiya Sharp circular needles! (The sharp part isn’t really necessary for this pattern, but… I wanted to make this hat right now and try one of my new needles, so…)

I’m making the “medium” size, so I cast on 80.

I like the curled edge brim, so I’m knitting about one inch of stockinette followed by another inch of 1x1 ribbing.

Adding one extra repeat of rnds 1-10 for increased slouch.

It looks nice, but it’s smaller than anticipated. I tested it out for fit on my own head. The brim was a bit snug and the hat fit more like a loose toque than a roomy beret. I think it might do well for a child, though.

If I try this pattern again, I’ll move up to the large size and do (at least) two of the extra repeats.
