I’m following this pattern (w/ video tutorial):
Milkshed’s Two-Color Brioche Cowl
(The designer has a project page for her cowl, but I don’t think the pattern itself is entered into Ravelry’s database…)
This is the second time I’m following that pattern. I enjoyed it so much the first time around that I wanted to make another one! (I’m casting on a different number of stitches, this time, though.)
Long-tail cast-on 120 sts on size 9 circular needle, then swapped over to size 8 circular (24”).
Joined into a loop and knitted every stitch for 5 rounds (creates rolled edge).
I didn’t have enough of any single color that I liked with the orchid-pink, so I’m going to try making wide stripes of two or three colors, instead.
The secondary colors are all over-dyeing experiments. One is Lion Brand’s Fishermen’s Wool. The other two are reclaimed 100% wool from a thrift-store sweater.
15 each of knitting and purling rounds for each secondary color. This makes a total of 45 each of knit and purl rounds, not counting the rolled stockinette edges.
I was almost finished with this months and months (and months) ago, but set it aside with less than 5% left to do.
Of course, after such a long time, I forgot that I’d done the first rolled stockinette portion with a smaller needle and didn’t remember until I was halfway through the second stockinette section. Oops! I guess it won’t be too noticeable, so I’m leaving it as-is.
Used the Simple Stretchy Bind-Off.
