This has been on my To-Do list for forever. Finally i ordered a pair of bamboo handles for the bag.
I have decided to use the Mystical Lanterns yarn pack from Jane Crowfoot because I really like the yarn/colours and will definitely get more use out of a bag than the shawl. If I’m feeling clever, I’ll even sew a lining.

Well, the bag handles have arrived and they’re so flimsy! I remember having really sturdy bamboo handles on bags in the past but I’m struggling to find some.

I may reuse a pair of handles from an old bag that has seen better days instead of the new bamboo ones.

Found great bamboo handles and I’ve finished the hexagons! Now for blocking and lining.

Bag has been steam blocked and the lining sewn in. I decided to use different handles as I didn’t like the way the bag fitted with the circular bamboo handles. I just need to sew either ribbon or lace over the edge of the inside top hexagons - just to neaten it, because I’m a fusspot.
All done! I decided to crochet a small frill on the inside to give a nicer finish. I could see some stitching despite my being careful to work invisible stitching. I actually really like the little frill, it adds a nice touch.
Frill
I attached the yarn around one of the trebles of the first hexagon (see pics) and worked 5ch, dc around next treble, to end.
Note: You could make a less frou frou frill by working around alternate trebles
NOTE:
Lots of people have asked me for the information for the yarn pack from Jaimesons, I thought that I had thrown the ball bands away but after much rummaging i have found them. Here’s the list of colours.
