Notes

This is just a fun project to make, hence the reason I’ve made it twice, the other time in a green color. Same deal with the Serenity Garden ombre yarn. When I purchased, I looked at weight and not yardage so when I ran out prior to the handles, I decided to go with some Caron Simply Soft in black that I had in my stash. I’m pleased with the combo.

I have to say, even though I had made this bag previously, I still got confused when it came to joining the last linked stitch to the first linked stitch in Rows 45 and 47. Even though I had my first finished bag to use as a reference, it still took me a while and a few trial and error attempts to figure out what I did the first time. If you follow the instructions in the book, it just doesn’t look right (in my opinion), but maybe I’m just doing it wrong. Anyway, what I ended up doing was working the last LDTR stitch up to the point where I had all 5 loops on the hook. I then slip stitched into the 1st LDTR stitch (starting at the bottom) and pulled the slip stitch through 2 loops on my hook, then slip stitched in the next stitch up of the 1st LDTR stitch and pulled that through 2 more loops on my hook. I repeated this until I had slip stitched from bottom to top of the 1st LDTR and pulled through all of the loops of the last LDTR that were on my hook. It’s not what’s called for in the pattern, but it looks good, lays flat, blends well, and feels strong.

Now we have bags for both cars. Yay!
