My mother was a stained glass artist, she would make the most amazing pieces and windows. She is gone now and I want to make this to remember her. See my projects for the second one in reverse colors.

I would say this pattern is difficult although the usual stitches are used, it’s complicated as you really can’t just crochet mindlessly, you always have to be counting or need the directions handy.
My advice: Don’t finish one square at a time. Do one color at a time. Meaning, begin all your desired squares at the same time (in this case 12) make all 12 centers, then go to next color and do the second row on all 12 before going to the next color. Trust me, this is better because you will have the stitch pattern in your head and you will fly through all 12 squares much faster.
Not your typical crochet square, but it’s impressive and colorful. Scratchy in the Red Heart but you can spritz with water in a spray bottle and give it a 5-10 minute tumble in the dryer and it will be very soft. :)
Bobby Award 2010. I am thankful to be faved so many times on this afghan. Although it isn’t my design and many have made it, it’s nice to see the love and have received so many wonderful comments about it. My Mom taught me to crochet and I’m sorry she never got to see it. She would have loved this afghan. As she would say, “It’s right up my alley!” R.I.P. Mom.
