Cast on after breakfast and cast off while the boys read the bedtime story. (Could that be a note of smugness? :D I even sewed it up and worked in my ends the same evening.. )

The Ushuaia has a fun thick-and-thin thing going on, which gives this more of a rustic look than it might have in a different yarn. The solid dark contrast yarn gives it room to show all its colours without them all getting lost in the crowd.

It reminds me of watching the colours being swirled up from the bottom of the tin of paint.
