My gauge was off and I didn’t want to go with a smaller needle :-) So, I adjusted in size. I was getting ~18 sts/4”. So, I knit a size small in order to get about 38” at the bust.

I knit the tunic as a knee length dress. I cast on for a size small and knit 3 rounds, then I purled one round (to keep it from rolling up so much). Then, I knit 3 rounds and did the first 6 rounds of color work. After the color work I went back to knitting in just the main color for 11” (total from cast on) before I began the decreases for the waist, and continued as written in the pattern.

For the sleeves, I cast on in the same way as for the dress adding the purl row and the first 6 rounds of color work.

I changed to US6 needles for the color work, since it’s often a looser gauge for me.

At the neck, after doing the short rows as written in the pattern (but in the main color), I knit 2 rounds in contrast color. Then knit 3 rounds in the main color, purled one round, knit 3 more rounds and then bound off using the lacey bind off.
