Ok, somewhere in the pattern, it says that the sweater/vest really isn’t designed to close in front, but to think of it as a frame for your boobs…that’s why I call it a boob framer.
Specs/Mods -

Inc to 147, as indicated on pattern (34 rows)
Straight st st to 99 rows (between 16-17”)

I-cord bind off officially failed! Too tight… and there are puckers at the inside of the border on the lower front curves of the sweater…looking at my options before I FROG and redo. sigh!
02.22.12 - So, I frogged the bind off, and tried another bind off…no good, still puckers…Brenda was right. Sooo, I frogged almost the entire border, then picked up the stitches again (with extras at the corners on the pick-up AND on the next three knit rows), and I think it’s better. Won’t know for sure until I bind off again - sigh!
By the way, the I-cord bind off looks waaayyyyy better than anything else, so I think I am gonna work it on fewer stitches (2 or 3) with giant needles to increase the elasticity.
02.24.12 - Well, on bigger needles, the i-cord bind off looks RIDICULOUS!!!, so I ripped it back and did the bind off on the 8s, with just two stitches. I finished one of the “sleeves” this morning, and the border around the sweater is a little wavy (I may have added too many stitches at the corners?)…I am going to do that second sleeve and give it all a good soak and block…we will just have to wait and see what happens, I suppose…
02.27.12 - logging the finish…after soaking and laying flat to dry, looks great! Wearing it today to work, and I really love it! I wasn’t sure if I would like it, but I do…it’s a shame I don’t take my own photo very well, because this is one that really needs to be seen ON…maybe someone can take a photo for me on Thursday?!?
