based on dishcloth pattern where you cast on 4 and (knitting all rows) increase 1 st at the end of every row until you reach the diagonal length desired. Then, knit about 4 rows without increasing. Finally, knit all rows, decreasing 1 st at the end on every row until you are back to 4 sts. Bind off, create triangular “hood” piece in the same fahion, but in stockinette, and attatch in one corner.

Face done intarsia (white) and duplicate stitch (red and black). Ears knit by picking up sts. vertically and decreasing to create curve.
