I am going to make a mommy, a daddy (in fatigues) and a Peanut doll for Christmas…maybe a little Peanut’s doll, too! Will probably convert to in the round, still working from the legs up…thinking about adding “sock” shoes to the ends of the legs? So much planning for such little toys! lol, can’t wait…

Notes/Mods:
Doll 1 - Army Dad (with boots), knit in the round
finished 11.11.11
With boot color, Cast on 12, k 8 rows.
Pick up 4+12+4, and knit around twice, stopping in the middle of one of the 4st ends (back of boot, new beginning of rounds, 32sts).
K12, ssk, k4, k2tog, k12.
K11, ssk, k4, k2tog, k11.
K10, ssk, k4, k2tog, k10.
K9, ssk, k4, k2tog, k9. (24 sts)
K7, ssSk, k4, k3tog, k7.
K5, ssSk, k4, k3tog, k5 (16 sts)
K2tog, k12, ssk (14 sts)
K four rounds.
Break boot yarn, join leg yarn, k1, kf&b, k1, (kf&b)x8, k1, kf&b, k1 (24 sts)
K plain 13 rounds. Break yarn, place all stitches on a waste yarn “holder,” and make another leg, DO NOT break yarn.
Connect legs on round 1 of body (48 sts) and knit body, through rnd 23 of head, as written. (For pants and shirt on Dad doll, I would knit first 14 rounds of body in leg/pants color, then switch to shirt color.)
On rnds 24 & 26 of head, decrease 8 sts evenly (32 sts), stuff body, close head, and shape neck.
Arms: sleeve color 20 rnds; hand color 10 rnds; I made “wrists” like I shaped the neck.

Doll 2 - Mommy (with boots), knit in the round
With boot color, Cast on 4, k 12 rows.
Pick up 10+4+10, and knit around twice, stopping in the middle of one of the 4st ends (back of boot, new beginning of rounds, 28sts).
K10, k2tog, k4, ssk, k10.
K9, k2tog, k4, ssk, k9.
K7, k3tog, k4, ssSk, k7.
K5, k3tog, k4, ssSk, k5. (16 sts)
K two rounds.
Break boot yarn, join fur, knit around increasing 4 sts evenly around. (20 sts)
Purl one round in fur.
Break fur, join leg yarn, knit 10 rounds in pants color.
Connect legs on round 1 of body (40 sts) and knit 10 rnds in pants color, then finish body in shirt color.
Join head color, and knit through rnd 17 of head, as written.
On rnds 18 & 20 of head, decrease 8 sts evenly (24 sts), stuff body, close head, and shape neck.
Arms: 13 rounds sleeve color, 7 rounds hand color.

Doll 3 - Peanut (with boots), knit in the round
Not too many details…pretty much the same types of mods as the other two, except the boots are toe-up socks, started on 3+3sts, worked up to 5+5sts, and a short-row heel.
