I have had this yarn for over a year, and I have been wanting to cast on a new cardigan since that first night chill a couple weeks before I cast on!

The pattern suggests needle sizes 5 & 7, but I am going up to 6 & 8. The yarn is a little thicker than the standard worsted, and the medium size is still a little shy of where I’d like it to be for no ease. Even with my slightly smaller frame, I am still not ready for negative ease on this one…also, with heavier clothes underneath, I may need a scoch more room.
10/7/11 - I have finished the back, and I am nearly through the decreases on the front pieces. I am knitting the fronts (and will knit the sleeves) two at at a time, so that I don’t have to work so hard to remember “what I did on the other one.” I’m not sure where I am percentage-wise at this point, but I am feeling like the knitting is coming right along…I think using my row counter helps, it’s easier than stopping to measure all the time, in my opinion anyway…and I suppose that I am a bit biased. :)
10/17/11 - I finished the fronts and joined the shoulders and side seams on the 16th. I thought about knitting the sleeves in the round, and I may still do that, but I cast them on flat, and part of me just wants to do them that way…switching to flat for the sleeve cap shaping can be a real pain…I guess that’ll be a game-time decision. Haha! I made a sport-like reference!
10/24/11 - Well, I did knit the sleeves flat, and seam them before setting them in. Also, I ended up picking up 3 sts every 4 rows for the ribbing, and doing the whole collar (both sides) at the same time. It’s far more stitches than the pattern calls for, but I think it will be ok on the small needles. I also found some amazing buttons…so this is nearly done! Yay!
10/25/11 - Knitting done! Now, off to sew on buttons, block and get some photos. Love this!
