I have some friends who have some kids. Actually, they have two daughters, completely adorable, and 13 months apart in age. The oldest is currently 18 months old, and I am making sweaters for both with this pattern. I do love this pattern!

I’m thinking of doing button bands with the picot edge, rather than the garter edge, but I’m not 100% sure yet. That edge is just so adorable! In any case, one sweater will have a solid top, and the other a solid bottom, because I just don’t have enough of the purple to do them identically, and I do not wish to buy more of that right now.

Sleeve mods for larger sweater:
14 rounds in purple, switch to smaller needle and striping yarn. k 1 round, decreasing 2 sts at underarm; p 1 round, decreasing 2 sts at underarm; p 2 rounds; back to larger needle, knit 1 round, inc 11 sts (55 total now); work 3 lace repeats, then picot edge as written for bottom. Ummm, so cute!
