Using yarn purchased for me, light worsted mostly, in white, green and brown. These are turning out great! Each hat took about 4 hours of knitting, and I think the detail knitting and embellishment will take about 30 minutes per hat…so very cute and fun!

Mods:
Cast on, join and knit 2 rounds.
Turn work to inside (as for intarsia in the round), and knit 7 rounds green + 1 round white.
Turn once more, and work pattern as written except knit the purls and purl the knits. Rather than p3tog, sssk (slipping 3 sts, then knitting them together through the back loops).

At the end, turn right-side out, weave ends, and block!
