Why not? My method (not a formal pattern):

Cast on 18; 1x1 rib - 3 rows
Knit one round.
(K1, kf&b, k4, kf&b, k2)x2 - 22sts
Knit one round.
Inc 8sts every other round for sleeves until there are 54sts.
Split for sleeves, placing 12sts on holder for each sleeve…cast on 1 st under the arm, and knit around remaining 30+2sts about 8-10 rounds (?)
3 rounds 1x1 rib, bind off in pattern.
Finish sleeves the same, picking up 2 extra sts under the arm, and decreasing those sts on 3rd round.
