Well, I am a lazy knitter, so I did not swatch. Several rows into the ribbing, I looked at the yarn label, which has a “3” on it. The pattern calls for worsted, which is a “4” yarn. Hmmm…but I kept knitting, and 20 rows into the stockinette portion, I seem to be getting stitch gauge, so I’m gonna keep going. :) I am such a rebel.

September 14, 2016 - I did good! Two years later, and she can still wear it, although the sleeves are a tad bit short… I think I’ll have to knit another, and her mommy says this is “her favorite sweater!” (Maybe one for little sister, too…)

Notes:
14 rounds ribbing.
32 rounds stockinette.
Stop and work pouch. Then continue sweater to round 38, fuse pouch on 39.
Continue knitting to 56 rounds (almost 11”).
Sleeve sts provisionally cast on, to knit down later. Work yoke as written, until placket.
At sleeves, rib for 16 rounds, bind off with an 8.
